With a court judgment, up to 1/4 of your salary can be garnished. For child support, up to 1/2 can be taken.

Creditors with a court judgment can garnish up to 1/4 of take-home pay (Civil Execution Act Art. 152). If pay exceeds ¥440K, everything above ¥330K can be taken. For child support, up to 1/2 can be garnished.
