Property division (zaisanbunyo) splits marital assets upon divorce, typically on a 50/50 basis (Civil Code Art. 768). Three components: liquidation, support, and consolation. Must be claimed within 2 years post-divorce. Pre-marital and inherited assets are excluded. Pension division is a separate scheme.
